Litter Picking Events:
We work with our local council to take part in litter-picking events in our local community. Our pupils help to keep our surroundings clean and tidy while learning about the importance of looking after our environment.
We are particularly pleased with this ongoing work as one of our Governors is involved in this project too.
Governors celebrated the achievements of our Eco Council and its partnership with Bolton Council's Environmental Services team.
During a September litter-picking activity, pupils collected 12 bags of rubbish from the school car park and neighbouring Haslam Park.
Bolton Council confirmed that the school's ongoing volunteering work had contributed to the collection of more than 100 bags of litter and praised pupils' enthusiasm, responsibility and commitment to improving their community.
The school was also provided with one of only 16 Volunteer Vaults across Bolton, supporting further community environmental action.
A governor also participated in judging the school's environmental competition, recognising pupils' creativity and environmental awareness.
Governor impact: Recognised and celebrated the impact of pupil leadership, gathered external evidence of the school's contribution to its community and supported the school's commitment to sustainability and active citizenship.

Environmental Events and Activities
Throughout the year, our Eco & Sustainability Group takes part in a range of events and activities to raise awareness and encourage our whole school community to care for our planet.
These include:

- World Environment Day – learning about environmental issues and taking action to protect our planet.
- World Oceans Day – exploring the importance of our oceans and how we can help reduce pollution.
- Recycling Week – encouraging everyone to reduce waste, reuse items and recycle correctly.
- Eco Challenges – setting challenges for pupils and families to make more environmentally friendly choices.
- Eco Assemblies and Awareness Days– sharing environmental messages and inspiring others to make a difference.
Through these events, we help our pupils understand that everyone can make a difference and that small changes can have a big impact on our planet.
