Mathematics Curriculum
At our school, we want every child to develop a confident and positive attitude towards mathematics. Our maths curriculum is carefully sequenced to build on prior learning and develop pupils' knowledge and understanding progressively.
Across each year group, pupils develop their mathematical fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills, with opportunities to make connections between different areas of mathematics and apply their learning in a range of contexts.

Below is the key multiplication to focus on for the Half Term. As you may be aware, by the end of year 4, children need to know ALL of their times tables for the Times Tables Check Timed Test Online. The number in brackets is the revision of prior learning to embed x table.

Weekly Overview:
At least 5 minutes of daily practice and/or teaching from Y1 – Y5. These sessions can be done at any time of day it does not have to be in your Maths lesson.
- 1 x 20 mins practice on ipads/laptops (Y4 x 2 weekly sessions).
- Half Termly TT Rockstars Grid assessment, enter results on TT Rockstars.
- Times Table display with links made to real life objects – homework challenges linked to half termly times table focus.
- Songs and multiplication games to be sung at the start/end of any lesson to help practice learnt multiplication facts.
